Privacy Statement
At Arnside School we need to collect data about your child and yourself.
Sometimes this is because we are legally obliged to do this – for instance your child’s date of birth decides which class they are educated in.
Other data is vital for safety reasons – for example a contact telephone number, or information about allergies.
Much of the data relates to our main task, the education of and caring for your child.
We respect your privacy and confidentiality. We do not collect more information than we need. Where data is stored electronically, it is encrypted and password protected. Paper documents are locked safely away.
Sometimes we have to share data about your child. The Department for Education (DfE) regularly needs information about how the education is progressing. Those who join with us in offering residential or sporting activities need health and safety information. When your child moves on to another school we provide data about their educational history. We do not share data for commercial gain to the school.
When we no longer need the data it is destroyed.
For our complete Privacy Policy and Privacy Notice please see our website or ask for a printed copy at the school office. These spell out in detail our responsibilities and your and your child’s rights under the new GDPR regulations.
