A huge thank you to volunteers and members of the Archive Society who kindly put up a special Remembrance display in St James' Church. All the pupils were fascinated by the information and pictures on display - the local insight was particularly poignant. On behalf of the school, our appreciation goes to Sandy, Chris and Edgar for giving up their time.
All the pupils in school has created a special poppy and with Mrs Brough's creative skills, they were beautifully displayed in the Church for all to admire. All the classes had undertaken work related to Remembrance and the music 'The Last Post' was used at the start of every assembly (one pupil even brought in a bugle that had been used in WW2). The poppy merchandise was as popular as usual and plenty of money was raised for the Royal British Legion. Thanks to all who donated and supported our special commemorative week.
