Claire Griffell worked with Y6: Twinning school in Senegal

24 April 2019

The year 6 pupils have used their artistic skills to paint postcards of Arnside to send to our friends in Senegal. On these, they wrote descriptions of the locality in French. They are preparing to hand over the roles of school ambassadors to the year 5 children, who can develop our inter-school friendship further. Claire is hoping to work with children throughout the school from September to involve as many of the children as possible in our twinning.

We have also purchased a gift to send out to Senegal with Claire in June, of a painted plate  with images of our local sheep. Sheep are very important to the people of Senegal but their sheep look very different to ours, so we thought they might like to see how ours compare. We recently received a carved sculpture of two people holding up the world from our twin school, to represent our new friendship across the globe.
